Why we built Nudge

Most working professionals are dehydrated by 11am.

They feel it as a 2:30pm slump. A flat mood. An email reply that takes ten minutes to write.

They don't connect it to water.

That's the problem Nudge was built to remove.

Hi, I'm Joe. I built Nudge after I realised I'd been drinking less than a litre of water a day for most of my adult life — and the cost of that wasn't health. It was bandwidth.

The origin story

I didn't think I had a hydration problem. I thought I had a focus problem, a sleep problem, a "why am I tired at 3pm" problem. So I optimised the obvious things — caffeine, screen time, supplements — and ignored the basic one.

The fix started embarrassingly. I'd buy a 500ml plastic bottle on the way to work, drink it, refill it, drink it again. Eventually there were three empty bottles stacked on my desk by 5pm. That was the only way I knew I'd actually drunk enough water that day.

It wasn't sustainable. I was generating plastic waste to solve a problem that didn't need plastic. And every refill, every "have I drunk enough yet today?" calculation, was a small tax on my attention. The hydration was working. The system around it was a mess.

Nudge is the version of that system I wish had existed: a bottle with the hours already printed down the side. You glance at it. You know where you should be. You drink. You stop thinking about it.

What we actually promise

The promise of Nudge isn't "drink more water." Plenty of bottles can do that.

The promise is the mental bandwidth you get back when a basic, daily thing stops needing your attention. The compound interest of doing the boring foundations well — so the rest of your day has room to breathe.

Why Nudge is different

Stanley sells aesthetic.
Owala sells fun.
HydroJug sells grit.
Healthish sells hydration.

Nudge sells the mental bandwidth that comes from automating a daily basic.

One of those is not like the others.

Three bottles, one system

The 32oz Time Marker for the desk. The 2L Challenge Jug for refill-once-and-be-done days. The Nudge Daily slim for everything in between. Each one tells you where you should be, without an app, an alarm, or a reminder you'll snooze.

What we're building beyond bottles

Nudge starts with water because water is the foundation everyone neglects. But the brand isn't about bottles.

It's about a quiet community of people optimising the unsexy basics — water first, then sleep, focus, time, attention. All the things the loud part of the internet doesn't reward you for getting right. We're building toward that. Slowly. On purpose.
